CHARACTERISTICS

Anthracite is in the highest rank of coal. It has a shiny black surface, low moisture and high heating value,which makes it hard to ignite it on fire. It contains about 80% fixed carbon, more than any other type of coal. Anthracite is used as solid fuel in manufacturing process also due to its high carbon content.It is widly used as raw material in steel, activated carbon, and water treatment process.
